Ancelotti’s potential departure from Real Madrid: A new chapter

Carlo Ancelotti, the legendary Italian coach, is reportedly considering leaving Real Madrid at the end of the current season. This comes after his contract renewal in December 2023, which was signed amidst speculation that the Brazilian Football Federation might appoint him as their national team manager. Ancelotti's second stint at the club has been highly successful, earning multiple titles including two La Liga championships, two UEFA Champions League trophies, a Copa del Rey, two UEFA Super Cups, two Spanish Super Cups, a FIFA Club World Cup, and a FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

At 65, Ancelotti became the most decorated coach in Real Madrid's history, having won the most trophies. His contract, which extends until the summer of 2026, would leave him with one more year at the club after this season. However, even if this season ends with more trophies, Ancelotti has expressed his intention to end his tenure at the club in the summer, regardless of the results.

Although he enjoys his time at the club, having returned with enthusiasm and found fulfillment in Madrid, Ancelotti feels that his second chapter at the Santiago Bernabeu is destined to close this summer. Despite facing intense pressure this season, particularly after a slow start and disappointing Clasico performances, Ancelotti is not contemplating retirement. Instead, he is considering continuing his coaching career elsewhere. If he leaves, Xabi Alonso is reportedly the top candidate to succeed him.
