William Simoncelli elected to lead French Tech Casablanca's innovation drive

French Tech Casablanca has announced the election of William Simoncelli as its new president for a three-year term, from January 2025 to December 2027. Simoncelli’s appointment marks a strategic step in fostering “dynamic continuity and innovation” within Morocco’s growing tech ecosystem, according to a statement from the organization.

Certified in 2017, French Tech Morocco has played a pivotal role in supporting Morocco’s entrepreneurial and digital landscape. Under Simoncelli’s leadership, the association plans to maintain its signature initiatives, including French Tech Days, startup support programs, and partnerships with leading academic institutions and business incubators.

Simoncelli succeeds Jerome Mouthon, the former president and co-founder of French Tech Morocco. A seasoned entrepreneur and advocate for tech innovation in real estate, Simoncelli has an impressive track record. He is a graduate of ICH Rabat and co-founded GIE Statimno Morocco in 2024, a company dedicated to structuring real estate data for businesses. He has also been instrumental in establishing the Moroccan Association of Real Estate Exports and was one of the co-founders of French Tech Morocco in 2017.

Throughout his career, Simoncelli has been deeply committed to advancing technology-driven solutions and strengthening Morocco’s digital ecosystem. His presidency will emphasize empowering entrepreneurs, startups, and investors by providing them with tools and resources to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market.

Notably, Simoncelli’s term will introduce new commissions to address emerging tech challenges and opportunities. Among these is the Cybertech Commission, a timely initiative aimed at bolstering cybersecurity and safeguarding digital infrastructures. Jeremy Dubourg, a member of French Tech Casablanca, will spearhead the Cybertech Commission.

Additional commissions focusing on fields such as Edtech and artificial intelligence are also set to be launched during Simoncelli’s tenure, reflecting the association’s commitment to driving innovation across diverse sectors.

French Tech Casablanca’s renewed vision under Simoncelli’s leadership promises to further position Morocco as a hub for tech innovation and entrepreneurship, reinforcing its role in the global digital economy.
