Morocco enhances military cooperation in Africa at Accra summit
In a pivotal meeting held during the 13th edition of the African Land Forces Summit (ALFS) in Accra, Ghana, from April 7 to 10, 2025, Brigadier General Abdelkarim Najjar, commander of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, engaged in strategic discussions with Ghana's Chief of Defence Staff, General William Agyapong.
This high-level dialogue, centered on the theme “Enhancing land forces' performance against new security challenges,” underscores the shared commitment of both nations to confront emerging threats on the continent with solidarity, responsibility, and effectiveness.
Under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the FAR, Morocco continues to foster active and constructive South-South cooperation, grounded in concrete partnerships. The meeting with Ghana's military leadership reflects this strategic momentum, aiming to develop joint training, shared exercises, and enhanced coordination on defense and security issues.
Morocco, leveraging its stability and experience, is dedicated to sharing its expertise with a continent seeking lasting peace. Ghana, an influential partner in West Africa, shares the same ambition of building resilient, modern, and interconnected armed forces.
This initiative exemplifies Morocco’s proactive role in shaping a unified African security architecture based on cooperation, exchange, and mutual trust. It paves the way for strengthened military collaboration between Rabat and Accra, benefiting the entire continent.
