Arab nations unite in denouncing Israeli airstrikes on Syria

Arab countries have collectively condemned recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria, labeling them as violations of international law and assaults on Syrian sovereignty. This unified stance follows tragic events in Nawa, Daraa, where Israeli shelling resulted in multiple casualties.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry described the airstrikes as a "flagrant violation of international law," emphasizing the need for influential global actors to intervene and compel Israel to respect Syrian territorial integrity and adhere to the 1974 disengagement agreement.

Jordan's Foreign Ministry echoed these sentiments, characterizing the attacks as a "dangerous escalation" that threatens regional stability. The ministry reiterated Jordan's commitment to Syria's security and sovereignty, urging the international community to act against Israel's provocations.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry also condemned the strikes, calling for immediate international action to ensure compliance with international law and prevent further regional escalation. The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast support for Syria's sovereignty and the aspirations of its people.

Saudi Arabia joined the chorus of condemnation, highlighting the necessity for the international community, particularly the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, to confront Israeli violations decisively.

Iraq expressed strong disapproval of the airstrikes, urging the global community to protect civilians and uphold their rights to peace and security. Kuwait labeled the attacks a continuation of Israel's blatant violations of international law, warning of increased regional tensions.

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) released a statement condemning the strikes, describing them as attempts to destabilize regional security. The Palestinian resistance group Hamas linked the aggression to broader Israeli policies against the Palestinian people, while Lebanon’s Hezbollah expressed solidarity with Syria and other affected nations.

Israeli military operations targeted various locations, including Damascus and the western provinces of Hama and Homs. The military claimed the strikes aimed at degrading remaining military capabilities in these areas. Following the fall of the Bashar al-Assad regime, Israel has intensified its operations, taking advantage of the situation to extend its control over the Golan Heights.
