Atlantic Re: A New Identity for Enhanced Regional Ambitions
Casablanca, April 17, 2025 – The Société Centrale de Réassurance (SCR) has reached a pivotal milestone by adopting a new identity: Atlantic Re. This transformation is part of a strategic shift aimed at solidifying national leadership while accelerating regional expansion.
A significant step in a historic trajectory
With 65 years of expertise, Atlantic Re represents the continuity of national service while embracing a new focus on innovation, sustainable performance, and continental influence. Since its inception, the company has played a crucial role in structuring Morocco's insurance sector, covering major risks, and supporting the national economy during critical periods.
In 2024, Atlantic Re reported a revenue of nearly 4 billion MAD, with approximately 30% derived from international operations. The company now supports operators in over 70 countries, collaborating with more than 500 partners and maintaining three regional offices in Abidjan, Kigali, and Cairo.
A continental ambition aligned with national priorities
This new identity resonates with the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for a Morocco that is engaged, influential, and supportive of Africa's development. Atlantic Re aspires to become a reference player in the industry, harmonizing expertise, proximity, and long-term commitment.
“Atlantic Re embodies a national ambition. It expresses our desire to contribute to a more resilient, influential Morocco, focused on Africa,” stated Ouafae Mriouah, General Director of Atlantic Re.
A structured strategy with concrete action plans
Atlantic Re's transformation is guided by a clear roadmap: the Reach2030 strategic plan aims to bolster its position in Morocco while enhancing its presence across Africa. Reach2030 is more than a plan; it represents a commitment to building a reinsurance framework that is closer, more agile, and capable of addressing the continent's profound transitions.
This plan is founded on five key objectives:
- Strengthening national and continental leadership by consolidating achievements in Morocco and supporting the emergence of regional insurance markets.
- Reinventing client relationships by offering greater proximity, responsiveness, and tailored solutions to partners.
- Enhancing influence and visibility through active participation in regional sector dynamics and strengthening strategic partnerships.
- Reinforcing financial and technical solidity by optimizing resource use and improving risk and performance management.
- Fostering talent and corporate culture by focusing on skill development and promoting a culture of Responsibility, Excellence, and Citizenship.
With Atlantic Re, Morocco gains a robust, agile, and visionary player prepared to tackle the climatic, economic, and technological challenges of the region while remaining true to its roots and focused on the future.
