Iraq reaffirms support for Morocco's territorial integrity
The Republic of Iraq has reaffirmed its unwavering stance in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco. On Saturday, Iraq reiterated this position and welcomed the growing international momentum behind the autonomy plan aimed at resolving the ongoing dispute over Moroccan Sahara.
Iraq’s foreign policy was communicated by Fuad Hussein, the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a joint press briefing after his discussions with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs,African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita. The official statement reflecting this position was highlighted in a joint communiqué issued by both parties.
Furthermore, the Iraqi diplomat praised Morocco's efforts toward achieving a political solution based on consensus, in alignment with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
