Trump promises to end "American decline" at pre-inauguration rally
At a fervent pre-inauguration rally in Washington, DC, President-elect Donald Trump vowed to bring an end to what he called “four long years of American decline.” Addressing a packed stadium of 20,000 supporters, Trump promised a dramatic start to his presidency, boasting of an exceptional first day, week, and 100 days, marking the beginning of a new era for America.
Trump, set to be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, declared that on inauguration day, “the curtain closes on four long years of American decline,” ushering in a day of renewed strength, prosperity, and national pride. He made a strong commitment to ending the political establishment's control over Washington, vowing to dismantle what he referred to as a "failed and corrupt" system.
Among his key proposals, Trump promised to tackle illegal immigration, boost oil drilling, limit federal workforce expansion, and eliminate diversity programs. He emphasized that the end of the so-called “invasion” at the US-Mexico border would begin swiftly.
During the rally, Trump also reaffirmed his intention to revoke what he described as “radical and foolish executive orders” from the previous administration, with reports suggesting that over 200 executive actions would be signed on his first day. Additionally, he vowed to declassify documents related to the assassinations of prominent figures from the 1960s, including President John F. Kennedy, his brother Bobby Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
Trump, adhering to his populist style, made a dramatic entrance to the rally, mingling with supporters before taking the stage. He also spoke of future plans to significantly reduce government size, with tech mogul Elon Musk expected to lead the new Department of Government Efficiency, which aims to slash federal spending and staff.
The rally featured performances by artists like KLee Greenwoodid Rock and Lee Greenwood, and actor Jon Voight praised Trump as a hero who never gave up on the American people, emphasizing the enduring support for the president-elect.
