King Launches "Ramadan 1445" Operation
His Majesty King Mohammed VI inaugurated the national "Ramadan 1445" operation, led by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in Rabat. This generous initiative, targeting one million households, approximately five million people, reflects the consistent Royal Care towards populations in precarious situations.
With a budget of 347 million dirhams, the "Ramadan 1445" operation will distribute 34,550 tons of essential food products, including flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato paste, vermicelli, lentils, and tea.

Medicines: Price Drop, Between Satisfaction and Concern
The government announced a price drop for several medicines, welcomed by patients but raising questions about its impact on the healthcare system.
In early March, a list of 13 medicines with reduced prices was published, aiming to improve healthcare accessibility for all households. Among the medicines affected are treatments for calcium deficiencies, malaria, blood cancers, gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders, brain tumors, and viral hepatitis B.
The price reduction benefits patients, making treatment more accessible, and positively impacts health insurance funds by reducing expenses.

Renewable Energies: Morocco Reaches New Milestone by End of 2023
Morocco achieved a new milestone in renewable energy development, reaching an installed capacity of 4,600 MW by the end of 2023, accounting for nearly 40% of the national electricity mix.
This significant progress aligns with Morocco's ambitious energy strategy, aiming for renewable energies to become the main source of electricity production by 2027. The goal of 52% renewable energy in the electricity mix, initially set for 2030, seems achievable within four years.

AMEE and Efficacity Collaborate for Decarbonized Development Projects
The Moroccan Agency for Energy Efficiency (AMEE) and the French Institute for the Energy and Ecological Transition of Cities (Efficacity) signed a memorandum of cooperation to develop software tools for designing decarbonized development projects with low energy and environmental impact at the neighborhood level.
This partnership supports Morocco's efforts to promote energy efficiency and transition to a low-carbon economy by leveraging the expertise of both institutions to develop innovative tools tailored to the Moroccan context.

Moroccan Solidarity towards Gaza and Al Qods Universally Acknowledged

Morocco, the first country to deliver its humanitarian aid through this unprecedented land route, once again demonstrates unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause. This Royal initiative, coinciding with the beginning of the sacred month of Ramadan, aims to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian populations, especially the most vulnerable.

Morocco-China: Collaboration Opportunities for Structural Transformation

Combatting Illegal Slaughter: Control Commissions' Report
Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit presented the actions taken by Control Commissions to combat illegal slaughter.
In 2022, regional joint commissions for price, quality, and supply control conducted 17,538 inspection tours, resulting in the seizure of approximately 13.3 tons of illegally slaughtered meat. Over 182,000 points of sale for red meat were inspected, including slaughterhouses, restaurants, fast food establishments, weekly markets, and other commercial spaces.
Thanks to these efforts, no cases of illegal slaughter were recorded in 53 provinces and regions of Morocco.
