France Rolls Out Streamlined Schengen Visa Process for Moroccan Alumni of French Higher Education

In a move aimed at strengthening ties with Moroccan graduates of French higher education institutions, the French government has unveiled a new streamlined visa application process. While not guaranteeing automatic visa issuance, the initiative promises a simplified procedure and a "benevolent" approach to application reviews, according to the French Embassy in Morocco.

The announcement, made on Monday by the French Embassy in Rabat, outlines a tailored process for Moroccan alumni holding a master's degree or equivalent, an engineering diploma, or a higher-level qualification such as a doctorate from French universities, provided they are registered on the France Alumni platform.

Sandrine Lelong-Motta, the Consul General of France in Rabat, highlighted that this initiative has been "specifically designed for Moroccan alumni of French higher education institutions."

The primary objective of this new measure is to simplify the visa application process. "This system will facilitate obtaining visa appointments and the processing of your application. You will have access to specific appointment slots to submit your dossier. Visa applications will, of course, be processed in accordance with the Schengen regulations, but with a benevolent approach," Lelong-Motta elaborated. She further clarified that while automatic visa issuance is not guaranteed for all applicants, those with complete dossiers may obtain a circulation visa valid for one to five years. "This visa will allow you to enter France and travel within the European Union multiple times."
