Schengen Visa Appointment Crisis: High Costs and Desperate Measures
In a troubling development, the cost of securing a Schengen visa appointment through brokers has soared to an astonishing 10,000 dirhams, sparking allegations of exploitation among applicants.
Reports indicate that these brokers are monopolizing the visa application process, creating significant challenges for individuals seeking travel permits. According to eyewitnesses, brokers have gained control over appointment slots, leaving applicants with few options.
Ayoub Meftahelkhir, a representative of the Moroccan Observatory for Digital Sovereignty, voiced concerns over the brokers’ ability to bypass official procedures. Despite numerous complaints and efforts to address the issue, these networks continue to operate unchecked on social media platforms.
This situation highlights the urgent need for regulatory intervention to protect applicants from unfair practices and restore integrity to the visa application process.
