Morocco Unveils 'Ntla9awfbladna' Campaign to Boost Domestic Tourism
Morocco's Tourism Office (ONMT) has launched a new communication campaign called "Ntla9awfbladna," which translates to "Let's meet in our country." This initiative aims to revitalize the nation's tourism sector by encouraging both domestic and international visitors to explore Morocco's rich cultural heritage and diverse destinations.
The campaign's first phase, which commenced recently, focuses on mobility and coincides with school holidays. It emphasizes the importance of using common transport means when traveling and highlights the ease of access to various tourist spots across the country. ONMT has released a promotional video targeting audiences from all socio-professional categories and regions of Morocco as part of this effort.
To maintain momentum throughout the year, ONMT plans to roll out additional communication waves that will align with various holiday periods and extended weekends. These subsequent phases aim to enhance the visibility and appeal of Moroccan destinations, promote off-peak travel, and assist Moroccans in planning their trips across the country well in advance.
Looking ahead to 2025, a third campaign is already in the works. This future initiative will focus on promoting spring and summer vacations, with a particular emphasis on seaside and nature-based tourism experiences.
The "Ntla9awfbladna" campaign is part of a broader strategy by ONMT to reinvigorate Morocco's tourism industry. Recent data suggests that these efforts are already bearing fruit. As of August, tourism revenues in Morocco reached an unprecedented high of $1.74 billion in foreign currency, marking a significant increase of nearly 20% compared to the same period last year.
The positive trend extends beyond this peak, with cumulative revenue up 7% to 76.4 billion Moroccan dirhams during the first eight months of 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism. These figures indicate a robust recovery and growth in Morocco's tourism sector, which plays a crucial role in the country's economy.
By leveraging its cultural assets, natural beauty, and improved accessibility, Morocco aims to position itself as a premier destination for both domestic and international travelers. The "Ntla9awfbladna" campaign represents a strategic move to tap into the potential of local tourism while simultaneously attracting visitors from abroad, contributing to the overall economic development of the nation.
