Moroccan Passport Gains Global Mobility: 73 Countries Now Visa-Free
The Moroccan passport has ascended to 69th place globally according to Henley & Partners' latest passport ranking, strengthening its position as the Maghreb region's most powerful travel document. This advancement grants Moroccan citizens visa-free access to 73 destinations worldwide.
The passport's improved standing reflects a consistent upward trajectory, advancing from its 80th position in 2023 and 78th in 2022. Within the Maghreb region, Morocco outperforms Tunisia (73rd with 69 destinations), Mauritania (84th), Algeria (86th), and Libya (100th).
Singapore tops the global rankings with visa-free access to 195 destinations, followed by Japan at 193 destinations. Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Spain share third place with 192 destinations each.
In the Arab world, the United Arab Emirates leads at 10th globally with 181 visa-free destinations, followed by Qatar (47th) and Kuwait (50th). Afghanistan ranks last globally at 106th with access to only 26 destinations.
Morocco's enhanced passport power stems from strengthened international partnerships, particularly in Africa. The country's visa-free arrangements extend across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America, with Ghana being the latest African nation to grant Moroccan citizens visa-free entry.
