Morocco Invests $30 Million to Expand Sustainable Aquaculture Sector

Morocco is taking significant steps to strengthen its aquaculture industry with a substantial new investment package. The National Agency for Aquaculture Development (ANDA) has announced the approval of 300 million Moroccan dirhams ($30 million) split between two funding programs aimed at developing the country's blue economy.

The investment initiative focuses on fostering competitive aquaculture operations while creating diverse economic opportunities within the sector. ANDA's comprehensive strategy includes supporting innovative projects, enhancing infrastructure development, and providing assistance to private investors interested in establishing new aquaculture farms.

Recent years have seen considerable growth in Morocco's aquaculture sector, driven by proactive government policies. The newly approved funding is designed to address increasing market demand for aquaculture products while maintaining strict environmental compliance.

Central to the initiative is Morocco's commitment to marine resource preservation. The investment programs emphasize building a sustainable and competitive aquaculture industry that prioritizes the protection of marine ecosystems, balancing economic development with environmental stewardship.
