Casablanca promotes health and fitness with free citywide sporting event
The fourth edition of CasablancaRun, organized by TheCityRun association, is set to take place February 22-23 along the Maritime Promenade of Hassan II Mosque on Zerktouni Boulevard. The event, themed "For a Healthy Morocco," aims to promote health and active living through sports while showcasing Casablanca's vibrancy and sporting community.
Younes Iraki, president of TheCityRun association, emphasized that this edition builds on the success of previous events in Tangier, Marrakech, and Rabat, furthering their mission to encourage active lifestyles through sport. "Our goal is to create an environment where everyone, regardless of their level, feels encouraged to participate and progress," Iraki stated.
The event features a diverse program including 5, 10, and 15-kilometer races, walking events, jogging introductions, and fitness sessions. Notably, specially adapted routes for wheelchair users ensure inclusive participation. All activities will be supervised by Casablanca's sporting community, including running groups, sports associations, and coaches, fostering a supportive and motivating atmosphere.
While participation is free, registration is mandatory through the official website: www.Casablanca.Run. The event is part of a broader national initiative, with similar events scheduled throughout 2025 in major Moroccan cities: Marrakech (April 12-13), Rabat (May 10-11), Tangier (June 28-29), Fes (October 4-5), Agadir (November 16-17), with dates for Oujda and Dakhla to be announced.
