Morocco joins key customs summit in Cairo to shape regional trade strategies

The 61st Meeting of Customs Directors General from North Africa, Near and Middle East convened in Cairo on Sunday, bringing together key customs authorities from across the region. The gathering, hosted by the Arab League General Secretariat in collaboration with Jordan's Customs Administration, featured participation from regional customs directors and the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization.

Morocco's delegation included Mohamed Zehaoui, Director of Resources and Programming at the Customs and Indirect Tax Administration (ADII), alongside Abdelhadi Said, Head of the International Cooperation Department at ADII.

The meeting addressed several crucial matters, including reports from the Policy Committee, the Regional Capacity Building Office in Abu Dhabi, and regional information exchange offices. Participants also examined the World Customs Organization's Strategic Plan for 2025-2028.

During the proceedings, the Moroccan delegation presented an activity report from the Regional Information Exchange Office for North Africa, headquartered at ADII in Rabat.
