Ryanair introduces new Manchester to Rabat flight route
Ryanair has announced its plans to launch a new flight route connecting Manchester, UK, to Rabat, Morocco, set to commence on March 30. This new service will operate twice weekly, marking Rabat as the fifth Moroccan destination accessible via direct flights from the northern English airport.
With this addition, Rabat joins the ranks of Tangier, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Agadir, which are already linked to Manchester. The flights will take place on Wednesdays and Sundays, responding to the increasing interest among British travelers in exploring Morocco.
In 2024, nearly half a million travelers journeyed from Manchester to Morocco, a significant rise from the 275,000 who made the trip in 2023. This trend highlights the growing appeal of Morocco as a travel destination for UK tourists.
Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the new service, emphasizing the airport's commitment to connecting northern UK residents with destinations they wish to visit. "We know Morocco is somewhere they increasingly want to explore. That’s why it’s exciting that Ryanair is launching this direct route to Rabat from Manchester, only the second such service from a UK airport," he stated. He added that Rabat offers "an unforgettable experience."
The airport’s website showcases a variety of attractions in Rabat, including the historic medina, the Hassan Tower, and the mausoleum of Mohammed V, along with beautiful beaches and the Museum of History and Civilizations. Additionally, the airport noted that car rentals in Morocco are affordable and that Rabat is well-connected by public transportation, making it an ideal base for travelers eager to explore the wider region.
