China condemns new US chip restrictions as bullying and pledges retaliation
China has strongly criticized the United States for implementing new export restrictions on advanced semiconductor chips, labeling the move as "bullying" and "protectionist." On Wednesday, Beijing’s Ministry of Commerce declared that these actions severely disrupt the stability of the global semiconductor and supply chains.
The US recently updated its export control rules, cautioning companies that using Chinese-produced high-tech AI chips especially those from Huawei, such as the Ascend series could violate American regulations.
According to the US Commerce Department, the goal is to ensure that American AI technology is shared only with reliable international partners and not with nations it considers adversarial.
China responded by accusing Washington of misusing export control policies to suppress its technological growth. The Ministry stated that these actions infringe upon the lawful rights of Chinese businesses and threaten national development.
Beijing also warned that any entity, whether domestic or international, that implements or supports these measures might be held accountable under Chinese law.
