Deadly drone strike hits Dnipro leaving dozens injured

A large-scale drone assault launched by Russia struck the southeastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Wednesday night, resulting in the deaths of three individuals, including a child, and injuring at least 30 others, according to regional authorities.

Serhiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, reported on Telegram that five of the injured were children and 16 people required hospital care. Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov noted that one of the explosions occurred just 100 meters from city administrative offices. He added that over 15 residential buildings, a student dormitory, an educational facility, and a food processing plant sustained damage.

Images shared online revealed the aftermath of the attack: intense flames, emergency crews working into the night, burned-out vehicles, shattered windows, and damaged structures.

In a separate incident in Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, Governor Oleh Syniehubov said a Russian missile strike injured two individuals in the town of Izium. The town, initially seized by Russian forces during the early phase of the February 2022 invasion, was later reclaimed by Ukraine.
