OCP Foundation’s 2024 Impact: Transforming Lives Through Education and Inclusion

The OCP Foundation's recent activity report highlights its significant social, educational, and economic contributions throughout 2024, focusing on Morocco and extending its reach across Africa.

In 2024, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to fostering growth and community development. Guided by the principle of “servant leadership,” the organization rolled out multiple initiatives aimed at creating enduring change.

Prioritizing Education

Education emerged as a central theme in the Foundation’s efforts. Over 75,000 students received support, while more than 3,000 individuals underwent training, benefiting nearly 71,000 learners, with a notable 54% being women. Special initiatives targeted girls, students with disabilities, and those from rural backgrounds.

The Foundation bolstered prestigious institutions such as the Lycée Mohammed VI d’Excellence in Benguerir and Lydex in Rabat, facilitating Moroccan students’ success in competitive environments both locally and internationally. Additionally, through a partnership with the Ibn Rochd Foundation, over 4,000 students from Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa received bursaries.

To modernize educational access, OCP introduced innovative digital tools like language labs and the PrepaDigitale program, providing students with access to thousands of online lessons. In response to the Al Haouz earthquake, the Foundation contributed to rebuilding efforts by constructing 263 new classrooms and 436 educational modules.

Fostering Inclusion and Gender Equality

In 2024, the Foundation placed a strong emphasis on inclusion, with women constituting over 55% of program beneficiaries. Initiatives aimed at empowering women in education, entrepreneurship, and science yielded significant outcomes, including business training for 71% of women involved in OCP-supported cooperatives.

Support for individuals with disabilities was also prominent, with the Foundation collaborating with various organizations to assist children with autism, Down syndrome, and hearing impairments. A total of 120 children with Down syndrome, 48 with autism, and 50 with hearing impairments received specialized support.

Advancing Scientific Research and Sustainability

The OCP Foundation made substantial investments in scientific research and technology, partnering with the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) to support 153 research initiatives involving over 600 researchers, nearly half of whom were women. These projects addressed critical issues in agriculture, health, climate change, and energy.

A notable achievement was the establishment of the Fonds de Développement Durable, aimed at funding eco-friendly initiatives such as solar energy projects, water conservation efforts, and biodiversity protection. In total, 95 sustainability projects were launched in 2024.

The Foundation also advocated for digital learning, completing 62 educational projects through the National Center for Digital Education (CNDE), which enhanced educational access for students in remote areas.

Global Reach and Community Support

Beyond its activities in Morocco, the OCP Foundation made a significant global impact, extending its support to countries including Zimbabwe, Malawi, Senegal, India, and Brazil. The Foundation aided farming cooperatives, provided educational supplies, and promoted sustainable agricultural practices.

Additionally, it championed small businesses, particularly those led by women, through initiatives such as African Women in Tech & AI and the Prix Lalla Al Moutaaouina, aimed at fostering local economic and social growth.

The report encapsulates the Foundation's dedication to community engagement, emphasizing its ethos of “servant leadership.” “In 2024, our Foundation chose to establish itself as a deeply human transformation operator, guided by the principles of Servant Leadership,” the report states.

OCP’s initiatives reached over 89,000 individuals, supported 281 partners, and contributed to the reforestation of 590 hectares of land last year.

“In 2024, our commitments came to life through concrete progress, strong collaborations, and collective efforts in service of the common good. Behind every number, there are stories, ambitions, and a shared energy to build a more united and resilient future,” the report concludes.
