Tomorrow's visit to Paris marks a new chapter in Moroccan-French relations
Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita will visit Paris tomorrow،April 14, 2025, to enhance cooperation between Morocco and France. This visit follows a series of positive developments in their bilateral relations, especially after French President Emmanuel Macron's trip to Morocco in October 2024, where he met with King Mohammed VI.
According to a statement from the French government spokesperson, the visit builds on the momentum of improved ties and is focused on advancing the dialogue between the two nations. The spokesperson also highlighted the exceptional partnership between Morocco and France.
A key topic of this visit will be the Moroccan Sahara issue. France reaffirmed its unwavering support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the southern provinces and expressed its belief that Morocco's proposed autonomy plan is the most viable solution to the regional dispute. This declaration reflects France’s historic decision to move past previous tensions, paving the way for stronger cooperation.
Bourita’s visit is of particular importance as it occurs amid a new phase of Morocco-France relations, one marked by mutual trust and shared goals. Discussions will include strategic areas such as economic cooperation, regional security, support for Africa's development, and reinforcing cultural and humanitarian bonds between the two nations.
