Musical magic at Mawazine 2025 with Fnaire and Diana Haddad
The 20th edition of the Mawazine Festival Rhythms of the World – delivered an unforgettable evening yesterday on the Nahda stage, uniting Moroccan musical heritage and Arab pop through the performances of the renowned rap group Fnaire and the celebrated Lebanese artist Diana Haddad.
The night opened with a vibrant and authentically Moroccan performance by Fnaire, who took to the stage amid enthusiastic applause from a large crowd hailing from across Morocco, particularly Rabat and Salé. Blending traditional sounds with modern rhythms, the group energized the audience with a repertoire of hits that reflect Morocco's rich cultural identity in a contemporary style. Their set became a true celebration of national pride, with fans of all ages singing along and dancing, testifying to the strong connection Fnaire has maintained with its audience since its emergence in 2001.
Following this dynamic opening act, Diana Haddad, known as the "Princess of Arabic Singing," graced the stage in a dazzling Moroccan caftan. With grace and emotion, she captivated the audience with a medley of her iconic hits from the 1990s, including Amanieh, Mas Wa Loli, Saken, and Ya Eibou. Her performance carried the crowd through a wave of nostalgia, romance, and joy, with the audience fully engaged singing, clapping, and dancing in perfect harmony with the artist.
In a heartfelt address, Haddad expressed her deep joy at performing in Morocco and thanked the festival organizers and Moroccan people for their warm and genuine welcome.
Under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Mawazine continues until June 28, showcasing an eclectic mix of Arab and international stars. Since its inception in 2001 by the Maroc Cultures Association, the festival has become a key fixture in the country's cultural calendar, drawing over two million attendees per edition and earning a place among the world’s largest cultural events.
