New Hijri year 1447 to begin on June 27, 2025 in Morocco
The Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs announced that the first day of Muharram, marking the start of the Hijri year 1447, will fall on Friday, June 27, 2025, in Morocco.
According to the official statement, the crescent moon of Muharram was observed at sunset on Thursday, 29th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 H, which corresponds to June 26, 2025. Consequently, the new Islamic year will commence the following day.
