Mohamed Hamaki electrifies the Nahda stage at Mawazine 2025
On Saturday night, the Nahda stage came alive with an electrifying atmosphere as Egyptian singer Mohamed Hamaki delivered a powerful concert during the 20th edition of the Mawazine Festival. Performing in front of thousands, Hamaki offered a heartfelt and straightforward show, demonstrating a genuine connection with his audience.
From the moment he stepped on stage to a standing ovation, Hamaki immediately set the tone, opening with hits like Nefsi Aba’a Ganbo and Agmal Youm, creating a festive and engaging ambiance. The packed crowd enthusiastically followed him as he smoothly transitioned between energetic tracks and soulful ballads, maintaining a strong interaction throughout.
Popular songs such as La Malama, Adrénaline, Melbedaya, and Yassatar were sung back by the audience, reflecting the strong bond between the Moroccan public and the artist. Hamaki appeared approachable and attentive, frequently engaging with the crowd, transforming the spacious Nahda stage into an intimate shared experience.
One of the concert’s most touching moments came during Mabalach and Haga Mestakhabeya, when Hamaki, accompanied by just a few musicians under soft lighting, delivered an emotionally restrained and controlled performance. The silence following the final notes spoke volumes about the moment’s impact.
The energy quickly returned in the second half, with songs like Wahda Wahda and Oddam el Nass turning the venue into a massive dance floor. Moroccan flags waved above the crowd, and in a symbolic gesture, Hamaki draped one over his shoulders, saluting the Moroccan national football team’s achievement at the World Cup in Qatar—a brief but well-received tribute.
The concert concluded with Ahla Haga Feki amid joyous celebrations. Wearing the Moroccan national team jersey, Hamaki expressed heartfelt thanks to the audience, clearly moved by their warm reception. The event was a flawless finale to a memorable evening.
Born in Cairo in 1975, Mohamed Hamaki is a leading figure in Arabic pop music. Since his debut album in 2003, he has continually evolved the genre by blending vocal sensitivity with modern sounds. His achievements include multiple awards, such as the 2010 MTV Europe Music Award, and he is also widely recognized for his role as a coach on The Voice Ahla Sawt.
The Mawazine Festival, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. From June 20 to 28, Rabat and Salé showcase a diverse lineup featuring both international stars and regional artists. Mohamed Hamaki’s performance on the Nahda stage stood out as a highlight, mixing popular enthusiasm with undeniable musical artistry.
