Official visit of the French Senate president to Morocco
On February 23, Gérard Larcher, the President of the French Senate, will make an official visit to Morocco, accompanied by Christian Cambon, President of the France-Morocco Friendship Group and former Chair of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. The visit, which is organized at the invitation of the President of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Ould Errachid, will begin with Larcher’s arrival in Laâyoune, coming from Paris. Upon arrival, he will be welcomed by local authorities, notable figures, and elected officials from the region.
The following day, Larcher will participate in a regional meeting where an overview of the city’s development program across various sectors will be presented. Afterward, the French Senate President will visit facilities and infrastructure related to the sectors of industry, culture, and other public services.
Later in the day, he will travel to Rabat, where he is scheduled to hold discussions with Moroccan officials. His meetings will include the President of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Ould Errachid, Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, as well as Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch.
As part of the official program, Larcher will also pay a visit to the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, where he will lay a wreath at the tombs of the late King Mohammed V and King Hassan II. His visit will conclude on February 26 after a final meeting with the Morocco-France Friendship Group, which is chaired by the parliamentary advisor Mohamed Zidouh.
