Morocco intensifies school-based measles prevention with new vaccination drive

A comprehensive measles vaccination initiative has launched across Moroccan schools as health authorities take decisive steps to protect students from the highly infectious disease. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has partnered with the Ministry of National Education to implement a coordinated vaccination verification program spanning both public and private educational institutions.

Medical teams will review vaccination records after obtaining parental authorization through consent forms distributed throughout the school system. Students found to lack measles immunization will receive the vaccine on school premises, contingent upon parental approval.

The program includes protective measures that may require temporary removal of unvaccinated students from school environments where measles cases are identified. This precautionary approach aims to safeguard student health and prevent disease transmission.

This targeted campaign reinforces Morocco's broader national immunization strategy, reflecting public health priorities in preventing severe complications that measles can cause in unvaccinated children.
