British company chooses Morocco to launch low-cost computing startup
A British company, known for its affordable computing solutions, is expanding its presence in Africa and considering a project in Morocco. This initiative aims to enhance access to digital technologies while supporting the growth of strategic sectors such as education, healthcare, and industrial automation.
During an event in Lagos, Nigeria, Mike Bofham, the company's commercial director, emphasized that the competitive pricing of their products meets the needs of businesses and individuals seeking high-performance computing solutions at lower costs.
The company’s models offer tools that are suitable for educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and industries. Besides education, the company sees significant potential in the healthcare sector. In many institutions, medical records are still largely handwritten, presenting an opportunity for digital solutions.
In Morocco, the rise of new technologies is paralleled by the growth of startups and public initiatives promoting digital transformation. Access to affordable computing devices opens up new possibilities for Moroccan entrepreneurs and engineers, enabling them to design solutions tailored to local challenges—whether in industrial automation, smart resource management, or the development of specific applications.
The increasing availability of these physical solutions could accelerate the development of a sector that is still in its early stages. This new presence, expected to materialize by 2026, could democratize access to information technology and enhance innovation capabilities in Morocco.
