Strategic partnership between Morocco and South Korea to diversify supply chains

In the context of reshaping trade exchanges, a delegation from the Korea Importers Association, led by its president Kim Byung Kwan, held a business forum and consultations in Rabat to explore new opportunities with Morocco. The aim was to secure supplies and reduce dependence on traditional markets.

During this occasion, KOIMA signed an agreement with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) to expand exchanges and deepen economic cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement outlines mechanisms to facilitate South Korean companies' access to high-value Moroccan products, as well as closer coordination to leverage industrial sector synergies.

The forum gathered around thirty officials from both the private sector and government departments. The South Korean delegation also met with Karim Zidaine, Minister of Investment, and Omar Hajjira, the Minister Delegate in charge of Foreign Trade, to discuss ways to stimulate bilateral trade flows. The discussions focused on the development of logistics infrastructure, streamlining customs procedures, and identifying promising strategic sectors, such as the food industry, electronics, and water-related technologies.

This cooperation demonstrates a shared commitment to structuring a balanced trade relationship, including industrial and technological investments, with the goal of making Morocco a regional hub for exchanges between Africa and Asia.
