A Royal Commitment to Strengthening Social Justice in Morocco
His Majesty King Mohammed VI has exhibited steadfast leadership in advancing equitable development and enhancing social welfare in Morocco. Throughout his reign, he has launched numerous initiatives aimed at fortifying access to healthcare, housing, and family support, laying down the groundwork for a just society.
In 2023, several new programs were inaugurated to sustain this positive momentum. In April, His Majesty unveiled the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Tangier, significantly enhancing regional medical services and training opportunities. Simultaneously, rehabilitation centers in Casablanca were opened, underscoring the King's commitment to delivering quality care to all communities.
To facilitate affordable housing, a novel direct homebuyer assistance program has been introduced, set to run until 2028. This program seeks to support low-income families and the middle class in achieving the stability of homeownership. In tandem, a direct social aid program, beginning this month, aims to elevate over one million households equivalent to 3.5 million people above the poverty line.
Recognizing the family unit as the cornerstone of society, King Mohammed VI safeguards its cohesion through progressive reforms. He spearheaded an updated Family Code that upholds the national values of sacred familial bonds. Emphasizing the importance of quality education, the deployment of Vocational Training Cities across Morocco will annually equip 34,000 youths with in-demand skills, fostering continued economic growth.
Morocco's ascension as a leading destination in aerospace and automotive manufacturing over two decades of industrial strategies reflects the King's visionary outlook. The introduction of Morocco's first domestic car brand signifies the Kingdom's progress in leveraging local talent. Nevertheless, sustained prosperity hinges on empowering citizens through access to opportunity, justice, and dignity commitments that lie at the core of King Mohammed VI's visionary leadership.
