15,000 runners expected for the 2025 WeCasablanca 10KM International edition
Casablanca is set to host the much-anticipated 2025 edition of the WeCasablanca 10KM International, with approximately 15,000 local and international runners expected to participate on September 28. This renowned urban race, recognized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), continues to build on the momentum generated since 2016 by the Société de Développement Local (SDL). The goal has always been to cement Casablanca’s position in the international urban sports landscape, according to the event’s organizers.
In the lead-up to the race, a specially designed sports village will open in the heart of Casablanca, at Place Rachidi, from September 17 to 27. This dynamic space will serve as a gathering point for participants, families, and the public, offering a diverse program of activities. Visitors can enjoy a mix of sports workshops, interactions with renowned athletes, and sponsor exhibitions, making it a vibrant hub of activity.
The sports village will also introduce the concept of urban sports to the public, providing a welcoming atmosphere for both participants and spectators. This initiative reflects Casablanca's ongoing commitment to promoting an inclusive sporting policy that blends performance with local engagement. The organizers emphasize that the city’s aim is to harness the power of sport as a driver of urban vitality and collective pride, further solidifying its reputation as a center of sporting excellence in Morocco.
