A 17-year-old boy was injured by gunfire on Tuesday evening in the Moulins district, a sensitive neighborhood in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. near the central Amaryllis square. According to police sources, the victim was hit in the thigh by a small-caliber bullet, causing two wounds but no serious bleeding.

The teenager was transported to Lenval Hospital, and his life is not in danger. He is known to police for involvement in drug trafficking but has not been placed in custody. Around fifty people were present at the scene, which remained calm.

Authorities have launched an investigation, but the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. No shell casings or other evidence have been found, and the shooter remains at large. Local judicial police began their inquiry on Wednesday morning.

Éric Ciotti, a local deputy, reacted on social media, condemning the “too long list” of gun-related injuries in Nice and stating, “We cannot get used to this situation!”
