Adil Klei Leads Ouarzazate Workshop on Mastering TV Interview Skills

From February 19 to 25, 2025, the Center of Excellence for Cinema and Audiovisual Studies at the Multidisciplinary Faculty in Ouarzazate hosted a workshop on television interview techniques. As part of its skill-development program for students, the center organized the training under the guidance of Dr. Adil Klei, a distinguished media expert.

It blended theory with exercises structured to mimic a professional TV set. Participants had the chance to learn from Dr. Adil Klei's extensive knowledge and experience in audiovisual media, digital broadcasting, and documentary filmmaking.

The Faculty Dean, Dr. Nabil Saffaj, and the Vice Dean, Dr. Mohamed Benaddi, also attended the event, underscoring the importance of the initiative. The sessions covered everything from the basics of conducting television interviews — generating unique story ideas and selecting reliable sources — to the planning and recording of episodes.

They covered investigative research, news scooping techniques, and on-camera performance, among others. The practical classes involved understanding body language, handling different types of guests, developing an interview structure, and creating the right questions.

One exercise that stood out in the workshop involved breaking participants into six groups, where each group was assigned two ideas and took them from concept to implementation. Students were introduced to industry-standard practices in television content production under Dr. Adil Klei’s mentorship, providing a realistic, professional-level simulation for the students.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Rabii El Jawhari, director of the Center of Excellence for Cinema and Audiovisual Studies, said: 'The workshop is part of the center’s activities that complement the students’ academic plan. While the center primarily focuses on cinema and film studies, this training bridges the gap by covering essential aspects of television and audiovisual media.'

This workshop is part of a series of training sessions aimed at preparing students for careers in cinema and audiovisual production. Through a dynamic blend of theory and practice, it aims to empower a new generation of media experts, equipped to conduct television interviews with comfort and professionalism.
