Akdital expands into UAE with $70 million Dubai hospital investment
Morocco’s leading private healthcare provider, Akdital, has begun construction on its first international hospital in Dubai with a $70 million investment.
The new hospital is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026. It will offer comprehensive services in multiple medical, surgical, and oncological specialties.
The facility will have a 200-bed capacity and incorporate advanced medical technologies that meet international standards. This aims to address growing demand for specialized care in the Gulf region.
This project marks the start of Akdital’s Gulf expansion. The group plans to open additional hospitals in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia between 2025 and 2030.
In April, Akdital signed a $200 million agreement with Saudi real estate developers Wataniyah Business Real Estate and Namaya to build two hospitals in Riyadh and Jeddah. These are expected to be completed by 2027 in line with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 health strategy.
Currently, Akdital operates 36 healthcare facilities across 21 Moroccan cities. The group manages over 4,100 beds and employs 7,500 professionals.
Over the past year, Akdital opened 12 new facilities in Morocco. By 2027, the group aims to operate 62 establishments with more than 6,000 beds in 32 Moroccan cities.
Akdital’s domestic strategy includes opening 4 to 5 diagnostic centers in small towns within 100 kilometers of each hospital. The goal is to establish 200 such centers across Morocco by 2030.
Since December 2022, Akdital has been listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange under the symbol AKT. The group continues to consolidate its position in Morocco’s healthcare sector while advancing its international growth with the Dubai hospital project.
