Al Hilal set to extend Yassine Bounou’s contract until 2027
Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Moroccan international goalkeeper Yassine Bounou to extend his contract until the summer of 2027. According to Saudi daily Okaz, the club has officially opened negotiations with Bounou, whose current deal runs through June 2026.
The talks appear to be progressing positively, with both sides nearing a one-year extension. The move comes after Bounou's standout performances in the last FIFA Club World Cup, where his calm demeanor and decisive saves earned him a spot in the tournament's best XI.
Since joining Al Hilal from Sevilla in the summer of 2023, Bounou has firmly established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the Saudi Pro League. He has played a key role in Al Hilal’s domestic and international achievements.
Despite the ongoing discussions with Al Hilal, the 33-year-old keeper continues to attract interest from European clubs, including Turkey’s Galatasaray and his former side Sevilla, who are reportedly keen on bringing him back.
Bounou, also known as the "Atlas Lion", remains a pillar of the Moroccan national team and a fan favorite for his consistency and leadership on the field.
