Allegations of corruption against Badajoz's provincial president

Manos Limpias has filed a complaint against Miguel Ángel Gallardo, the president of the Badajoz Provincial Council, alleging corruption and procedural fraud. The organization accuses Gallardo of employing a "manipulative maneuver" to secure his parliamentary immunity before the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura.

On Thursday, Gallardo appeared in court in Badajoz as an accused individual in a case involving alleged offenses against public administration and tax regulations. This investigation also includes David Sánchez, the brother of the Spanish Prime Minister.

According to legal documents accessed by La Razón, Manos Limpias asserts that prior to Gallardo's recent election as a deputy in the Extremadura Assembly, all individuals involved in the case—including Gallardo—were mere "ordinary citizens."

The complaint highlights that Gallardo, in less than 48 hours, allegedly coordinated with a fellow PSOE deputy to resign from her seat in exchange for a government subdelegate position in the region. This alleged agreement raises significant questions about the motivations behind the recent political maneuvers and the integrity of the electoral process.

The implications of this case are extensive, potentially affecting not only Gallardo's political career but also the broader political landscape in Extremadura as investigations continue.
