Alleged assassination plot linked to Algeria uncovered in France
A recent investigation has unveiled a disturbing case involving the alleged kidnapping of an Algerian influencer who has sought refuge in France, raising serious concerns about foreign interference. This sensitive case hints at the increasing clandestine operations attributed to the Algerian regime amid escalating diplomatic tensions.
According to reports, a potential assassination plot orchestrated by the administration of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune targeting the influencer has come to light following several months of intense investigations by the anti-terrorism section of the Paris Criminal Brigade and the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI).
On April 8, at least four suspects were taken into custody as part of this inquiry, which has been initiated by the judicial system for various serious offenses, including "kidnapping and confinement," "criminal conspiracy," and espionage activities, specifically "collaboration with a foreign power to incite hostile actions."
Among the notable figures involved is Amir Boukhors, known as "Amir DZ," who has become a prominent voice within the Algerian diaspora. The 42-year-old influencer and blogger boasts over 1.1 million followers on TikTok and YouTube, where he has gained notoriety for his critical commentary on the Algerian state and his exposés on corruption within the military regime. Due to these activities, he has sought asylum in France, where he has been granted political refugee status by the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (Ofpra).
