The move highlights Milei’s growing difficulties in governing with a minority in Parliament, which increasingly asserts its power in clashes with the executive.

The vote represents a significant institutional pushback against Milei’s attempts to govern unilaterally through emergency decrees — a practice criticized by opposition lawmakers as undermining democratic checks and balances.
