The Beirut Bar Association has officially launched a new digital platform along with an electronic payment card system for lawyers, aiming to modernize legal services and streamline administrative procedures. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the House of the Lawyer in Beirut on Thursday.

The new platform will allow lawyers to access a wide range of services online, including a searchable directory of registered attorneys, the ability to submit power of attorney documents, apply for Bar membership, and pay annual fees—all without the need to stand in long queues or make unnecessary trips.

Bar President Me Fadi Masri hailed the initiative as a major step toward the digital transformation of Lebanon’s legal sector. He emphasized that the platform is part of a broader push by the Lebanese government to implement e-governance, including reforms such as allowing legal notifications via email through amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure.

According to an official statement, the digital system was developed in collaboration with two private firms, including BOB Finance, which will manage the secure electronic payment cards issued to lawyers. The Bar also reassured users that all personal data shared on the platform will be fully protected.

Importantly, the initiative includes support for lawyers who may not be familiar with digital tools, ensuring that the benefits of modernization are accessible to all members of the legal profession.

This move represents a crucial step toward greater transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in Lebanon’s justice system.
