Chinese technology giant ByteDance is reportedly developing its own custom central processing units (CPUs) to strengthen its artificial intelligence infrastructure and reduce pressure caused by rising chip prices and ongoing supply shortages. The company, known globally for operating TikTok and other digital platforms, is increasing investments in AI as competition intensifies across the global technology sector.

According to sources familiar with the matter, ByteDance is exploring both Arm and RISC-V chip architectures as part of its long-term strategy to support large-scale AI operations.
