A car drove into a crowd in Munich, Germany, on Thursday, causing multiple injuries, according to local media sources. The incident took place in the city center, where a group of trade union members had gathered for a demonstration. Eyewitnesses reported seeing people in distress, some crying and shaking, following the crash.
Munich police announced on social media that they were conducting an operation near Dachauer Street, but did not release further information. It remains unclear whether the incident was a deliberate attack or an accident.
This event has raised concerns over security, as Munich is preparing to host the Munich Security Conference, which will be attended by numerous world leaders and officials from over 60 countries, starting on Friday.
