Casablanca hosts the 11th edition of the choreographic encounters
From October 1 to 5, 2025, Casablanca will once again become the stage for contemporary dance as the city welcomes the 11th edition of the Choreographic Encounters of Casablanca (RCC). Organized by the Col’jam company under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the event aims to combine artistic creation, social engagement, and international exchange.
Founded and directed by choreographers Ahlam El Morsli and Wajdi Gagui, Col’jam has been a central figure in Morocco’s contemporary dance scene for more than sixteen years. Their artistic vision blends creativity, cultural transmission, and social action, while also working to strengthen partnerships between public, private, and associative actors.
This year’s edition will introduce the Arab Dance Platform, an initiative designed to make Casablanca a key cultural hub in the Arab world. The platform will promote choreographic works from the region, highlight emerging talents, and encourage stronger connections with international cultural institutions.
Over five days, audiences will enjoy around twenty performances featuring artists from Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, as well as from Europe, including France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, and Switzerland. In addition to shows, the festival will offer an urban dance battle, an inclusive choreographic ball, free workshops, artist residencies, and professional masterclasses.
On October 3, a professional meeting will gather cultural stakeholders from the MENA region and beyond to address challenges in the choreographic sector and explore opportunities for sustainable international cooperation.
With this 11th edition, the Choreographic Encounters of Casablanca reaffirm their commitment to making dance accessible, inclusive, and socially meaningful, while placing the city at the crossroads of Arab and international cultural dynamics.
