Collision in Barcelona leaves 34 injured after bus accident
A major accident in Barcelona on Monday left 34 people injured, including four seriously, after two buses collided in one of the city's busiest streets. The Catalonia Emergency Medical Services (SEM) reported that all injured individuals were attended to, with the four most critical cases transported to hospitals for further treatment. Among them was a minor whose condition is considered less severe.
Eyewitness accounts, shared by Spanish media, describe one bus rear-ending the other, pushing it into a tree. Videos circulating on social media reveal the aftermath, showing one bus wedged into the other as multiple ambulances arrived at the scene.
The SEM deployed 19 ambulances to handle the situation, which caused significant traffic congestion across the city. The accident coincided with the opening of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), a globally significant technology event held annually in Barcelona.
