Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé won the UNFP award for best Ligue 1 player for the 2025-2026 season, extending his dominance in French football after claiming the same honor last year. The 28 year old attacker prevailed ahead of several high profile candidates including his PSG teammates Nuno Mendes and Vitinha, as well as Florian Thauvin and Mason Greenwood.

The award reinforced Paris Saint Germain’s long standing control over the individual distinction, with the club continuing a streak that has lasted nearly a decade. Dembélé remained one of the most decisive players in the French league despite reduced playing time during the season. He finished the campaign with 10 goals and six assists in only 20 league appearances, maintaining one of the highest productivity rates per minute played in Ligue 1.

The UNFP ceremony also recognized Pierre Sage as coach of the year after guiding RC Lens to qualification for the UEFA Champions League. Young PSG midfielder Désiré Doué received the award for best young player for the second consecutive season, underlining the club’s influence on the French domestic scene.

Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi secured a place in the Ligue 1 team of the season, which was largely dominated by PSG players. Abroad, Michael Olise was rewarded for his performances outside France after another strong campaign at club level.

In women’s football, Melchie Dumornay earned the award for best female player following a standout season with Olympique Lyonnais Féminin. The ceremony highlighted another year of strong individual performances across French football as PSG continued to dominate the league’s major honors.
