Dubai police recover stolen $25 million diamond within hours
Dubai police announced on Monday that they had recovered a rare pink diamond worth $25 million just hours after it was stolen. According to the official WAM news agency, three suspects were arrested thanks to advanced surveillance systems and artificial intelligence tools.
The theft occurred when the criminals lured a diamond dealer to a villa under the pretense of meeting a wealthy client. Once inside, the gang managed to seize the precious stone.
Authorities confirmed that in less than eight hours, three men of Asian origin — whose nationality was not disclosed — were tracked down and taken into custody. Videos shared by Dubai’s media office showed the suspects with blurred faces, along with surveillance footage of the incident.
Dubai is considered a major global hub for diamond trading, and the United Arab Emirates frequently highlight the safety and efficiency of their security system. This successful recovery is seen as a demonstration of the country’s strict measures against organized crime.
