Equatorial Guinea praises Morocco’s leadership in protecting Africa’s ocean
The Foreign Minister of Equatorial Guinea, Simeon Oyono Angue, warmly acknowledged Morocco’s pivotal role in safeguarding Africa’s ocean during a recent summit held in Nice. This event, part of the third United Nations Ocean Conference, was co-led by Morocco and France.
Minister Angue expressed deep gratitude to the Moroccan King for organizing this significant summit, emphasizing the ocean’s vital value to all nations and the urgent need to protect it. He highlighted Morocco’s leadership as an exemplary model of South-South cooperation, noting the various initiatives launched under the King’s guidance in favor of African development.
He praised the summit as a concrete example of international collaboration, underscoring the importance of the royal message delivered to participants, which addressed essential aspects of ocean and planetary protection.
Minister Angue concluded by stressing the shared responsibility to preserve the single ocean and planet for current and future generations.
The summit gathered numerous African heads of state, the UN Secretary-General, and representatives of international organizations and financial institutions.
