The French judiciary has issued an international arrest warrant against Salaheddine Selloum, a former Algerian diplomat stationed in Paris, suspected of involvement in the kidnapping of Amir Boukhors, better known as “Amir DZ,” an Algerian dissident who has refugee status in France.

The warrant was issued on July 25, 2025, by a French investigative judge. Selloum, who served as first secretary at the Algerian embassy in Paris between 2021 and 2024, is believed to have played a role in the April 2024 abduction of Boukhors near his home in Val-de-Marne. The YouTuber is known for his sharp criticism of the Algerian government.

Investigations led to a judicial inquiry for “terrorist criminal conspiracy in preparation of one or more crimes,” according to Le Monde. The arrest warrant allows France to request cooperation from other countries and, if possible, seek Selloum’s extradition.

Boukhors was kidnapped on April 29, 2024, and released on May 1. Three men, including an Algerian consular agent, have already been charged in mid-April for kidnapping and illegal detention linked to a terrorist enterprise. The French National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office confirmed these charges, which also include participation in a terrorist conspiracy.
