Germany will host the 2029 UEFA Women’s European Championship, the governing body announced following a decision by its Executive Committee. The German bid prevailed over two competitors: a joint proposal from Denmark and Sweden, and a separate bid submitted by Poland.

This will be the third time Germany organizes the Women’s Euro, after hosting the tournament in 1989 and 2001. It will also be the country’s first major women’s football competition since the 2011 Women’s World Cup.

In its campaign, the German Football Association (DFB) emphasized the promise of full stadiums and financial stability, responding to concerns raised after previous editions recorded losses that required compensation.
DFB president Bernd Neuendorf stated that the goal is “to bring more than one million spectators to the stadiums” during the tournament.

The championship is scheduled for summer 2029 and will be played across eight venues: Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Cologne, Leipzig, Munich, and Wolfsburg.
