Google Revamps AI Image Creation Tool with Enhanced Accuracy and Safeguards

In a move to address previous controversies, Google has announced the imminent relaunch of its AI-powered image generation feature within the Gemini platform. Dave Citron, senior director of product on Gemini, revealed in a blog post that the new Imagen 3 generator will soon be available to Gemini Advanced, Business, and Enterprise users. The initial rollout will be in English, with plans for expansion to other languages and user groups in the future.

The decision to reintroduce the image creation tool comes after Google temporarily halted the service in February due to widely publicized errors in historical depictions. Social media users had highlighted instances where the AI produced anachronistic and culturally inaccurate images, such as racially diverse German soldiers in 1943 and unconventional representations of medieval British monarchs.
