Paris (EJ) - Achraf Hakimi is set to be absent from the Moroccan national team training camp for the second consecutive day as he gears up for Paris Saint-Germain's French Super Cup showdown against Toulouse on Wednesday.

The Parisian club has included Hakimi in the final squad for the season's opening clash, signaling that the Moroccan fullback will not be able to join his Atlas Lions teammates, who commenced preparations in Salé on Tuesday for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Despite Morocco manager Walid Regragui emphasizing the importance of player commitment to the national team camp schedule, PSG manager Luis Enrique confirmed on Tuesday that Hakimi would indeed play in Wednesday's Super Cup match, overriding his obligations to Morocco.

In making this decision, the 24-year-old defender will forego crucial tactical and conditioning sessions with his national team in preparation for the continental championship in Algeria. Regragui is likely banking on Hakimi rejoining the squad as soon as possible once his club duties are fulfilled.
