Houthi rebels report Israeli strikes on Sanaa
Sanaa – Israeli airstrikes targeted Sanaa, the capital of Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels, on Thursday, according to the Houthi-affiliated media outlet Al-Massirah. An AFP correspondent in the city reported hearing explosions during the attack.
Al-Massirah described the incident as “an Israeli aggression against the capital Sanaa.” The strike coincided with the broadcast of a speech by Houthi leader Abdelmalek al-Houthi, which the channel had just begun airing.
Earlier, students and staff at Sanaa University demonstrated on campus to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, highlighting the tense regional context in which the strikes occurred.
No further details regarding casualties or the targets of the airstrikes were immediately available, and international verification of the attacks remains limited due to the restricted access to the Houthi-controlled areas.
