Inaugural Direct Flight Links Tetouan and Amsterdam
In a significant milestone event, an Air Arabia flight from Amsterdam touched down at Tetouan-Saniat R'mel International Airport, marking the commencement of the first direct flight service between the two cities.
The inaugural flight, with 176 passengers primarily from the Moroccan community in the Netherlands, received a ceremonial water salute upon arrival. This new twice-weekly route underscores the growing air traffic at Tetouan Airport. With connections to nine European destinations, the airport anticipates hosting over 300,000 passengers this year, representing a 35% increase in traffic compared to 2023.
Simultaneously, an expansion project is in progress, including the construction of a new terminal and control tower to meet the escalating demands of air traffic.
